Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales was the first waterfall photographed by Jona in the late 1970s, using a Kodak® Instamatic camera. Needless to say the results were less than inspiring.
In 1979, he purchased his first 'real' camera, a second hand PetriFlex V, from his uncle for ₤40. The next couple of years were spent experimenting, taking photographs of the numerous waterfalls along the Porter Brook in his home town of Sheffield and various architectural sites around the city.
He later migrated to Pentax (ME-Super, Super-A), Contax (RX) and finally Nikon (D750, D810, Z fc), because Contax, sadly, did not make the transition to digital cameras. He also uses a Bronica ETR-Si 6x4.5 medium format film camera.
Having emigrated to North America at the turn of the millenium, he now spends his free time photographing waterfalls and landscapes in south-western Ontario.
